Established in 1976 by brothers Robert G. Yates, Sr. (Bob) and Douglas B. Yates, Yates Construction Company, Inc. is a well-established heavy highway and utility contractor based in Stokesdale, North Carolina. Employing over 170 personnel, Yates Construction Company specializes in large scale utility, site preparation and heavy highway construction projects across North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. With roots established in a family atmosphere, Yates Construction Company, Inc. strives to maintain a close relationship with our employees. The family atmosphere and teamwork allows us to stress the importance of quality and value in each of our projects. Robert G. Yates, Sr.
CFO - Owner
As the founder of Yates Construction Company, Inc. in June of 1976, Robert G. Yates, Sr. (Bob) came from a construction background that provided him with years of experience not only in underground utilities and sitework, but in steam piping, boiler installation and ductwork as well. Having 47+ years of experience, Bob has now successfully lead Yates Construction Company through thirty-nine years of construction work and growth which began primarily as underground utilities and storm drain piping, but has grown to include all aspects of large sitework development and heavy highway construction projects.
Bret L. Arnold
Vice-President
Joining Yates Construction Company, Inc. in August 1991, Bret has 25+ years of experience which began as an Assistant Superintendent for a multi-family developer while attending Virginia Tech. His career continued at Branch Highways as a superintendent for two years prior to joining Yates Construction company, Inc., in 1991 as a Project Manager. Bret's primary focus has been on large site projects and heavy highway projects including multiple projects for both VDOT and the NCDOT.

Taylor E. Robertson (Gene) has been with Yates Construction Company, Inc., for 30 years. Gene serves as the company's EEO Officer as well as Safety Director.
Claude Church, Jr.
General Superintendent
Claude Church, Jr. (Junior) has worked for Yates Construction Company, Inc., for 33 years. Beginning as an equipment operator with previous construction experience, Junior has 38+ years of experience in all aspects of our work.
Mark Allen Sutton
General Superintendent
Mark Allen Sutton (Mark) joined Yates Construction Company, Inc., in June of 1990 as an equipment operator on a NCDOR Highway project. Mark has since been involved primarily with large NCDOT projects and multi-family site developments.
